Help! I tried to play the demo of Factorio on my Mac (which is using Yosemite) and every time a pop-up comes up and says that it can not be opened!

The demo is version 0.10 and that doesn't work with Yosemite.

So does the alpha work?

This bug was fixed. For the rest: be free to look around in this board. I have some feeling, that v0.11.4 will be released Thursday, which seem to fix many other stability issues. But no promise.

I have just bought the alpha and it still did not run!

Hello, did you try the 0.11.3 version? (downloadable as experimental at https://www.factorio.com/download/experimental)

Kovarex, as long as we are in this "experimental alpha phase", which I think will last some more month, perhaps till summer, I think you should put in as soon as possible something, which shows

There is no STABLE update available, but there is a new UNSTABLE.
- Click here to download it now
- or change your config to do that in future automatic
- or ignore this message in future.

Because this is now in 5-10% of all such questions in the support-subboard.

It would be also a good idea to begin to catch statistics about the usage of the unstable alpha releases for statistical reasons, to decide for example since when it is useful to tell the player to use the new release instead of the old.

Hi! I'm a MAC user and have Yosemite. I know there is an issue with this and the demo doesn't work.

I can't find a file to download. I will by the game when i can play it. Any suggestions? Progress from the developers?

The Factorio works on Yosemite now, I saw it myself on the mac we bought for testing and building Factorio.

The demo for factorio is still not working for Mac yosimite, so if you could update the demos that would be greatly appreciated by me and my fellow Yosimite users. Plus I cnat download any of the ezperimental versions because I have not yet bought the game, Whitch is why i want the demo to try out the game and make sure it runs smoothly and is as fun as described.

The experimental releases work on yosemite, but not the demo yet. Mac users will have to wait a bit for it, sorry.

Believe me, it runs perfectly smooth! (MacBook Pro Retina 2012 8Gb Ram 256GB SSD) i7

I just installed 0.10.12 (alpha) on a 2012 MBA with Yosemite and it always segfaults on startup, before displaying anything.

Hello, it is resolved only for the experimental releases, try 0.11.6 on www.factorio.com/download/experimental
