First of all, I have to say I love the game so far! Great work. That being said, I have a very frustrating issue with ALL my save files for a given map are corrupted. I hope there's a way to recover these as I have a lot of time invested in this map...and it was starting to get really interesting!

I tried searching the forums before posting but I was overwhelmed by the volume of hits and it seems that save files can be corrupted though many different ways. I thought it would be easier just to post this as a new bug with all my specific information.

I'm using version 0.17.32 totally vanilla (no mods at all - though I have installed mods I've used for past versions) I was playing just fine the night before. I saved the game in my usual save file, like I've done many limes before, and went to bed. The next day when I opened the game and tried to load my usual save file I get the error about input file being corrupted. So I try to load any of the three autosave files and they are also corrupted. There were no in game errors or crashes. From a user perspective I just saved and closed the game one day and came back to all my save files for that map corrupted the next.

I have had issues with the game background updating while I'm playing which does cause a crash. but this has never caused my saves to be corrupted. I noticed that, in steam, Factorio appeared to be syncing or updating or something this morning after I closed the game upon finding the corrupted save files. I don't know if this is related at all.

Thanks for the report. I took a look at one of your save files and it has 2 entities in your blueprint library that are saved as artillery projectiles but should be saved as transport belts. Since that was the only problem that I could find it makes me suspect memory corruption on your end.

I recommend running some kind of memory test on your computer. It may not find anything if it was something like a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_event_upset

I will also investigate possible memory issues. This is a very new PC from Digital Storm. It's working very well but I don't really like the Corsair RAM...I think it's unstable. I might be wrong, I will definitively be running some memory tests.
