in the campaign base/new hope level 1 you have to research a few things to be able to move on to level 2. However those things are not already researched in level 2 examples of things that could already be researched in level 2 of base/new hope include but not limited to; logistics 2, and engine

I think it's about: You have to research something in one level in the campaign, but don't have this tech anymore in the next level.

That's what I see as well.

Research is not carried over in the campaign,
usually not many will research a non-objective item (weren't these by any chance locked?),
but even the research necessary for finishing the level doesn't get carried over, which feels weird.

Well, we can discuss, if this is a bug or I can move this thread to bugs or someone makes a bug ticket. Dunno. The last would be the cleanest.

has someone made a bug ticket or should I do that, or are you going to do that?

I just figured this was a normal thing. I mean older games like for example Command and Conquer your money or troops never carried over. It's just a gameplay mechanic.
