How to access selection of 0.17 quickbar?

Is there any way to check what quickbar item is currently selected or any event when player (de)selects an item on the quickbar?
I don't know if there is or isn't
but consider that the quickbar isn't an inventory anymore, and clicking on it just grabs a stack from your main inventory... I doubt it.
