The Character logistic slots research items does not require the previous research to be completed.

It looks to me like you're reporting that "Character logistic slots 4" can be researched before "Character logistic trash slots 3". Is that correct?
If so, note that "Character logistic trash slots 3" contains the word 'trash', while "Character logistic slots 4" does not. The two upgrades are for different logistic improvements.
