[0.17.18] Inventory not visible in crafting window (E)

After I´ve been kicked from the server when it auto updated to 17.18 (I hate that feature, but im not the admin)
upon return i cant see my inventory

I lost about 10 minutes of gameplay, but still got my crafting queue of that time, so it saved somewhere, just not at the point of shutting down.
Great paid service (not), but thats not the point, just thought i´ll include every information possible

The little black (or more grey) bar at the top of where the inventory should be does nothing
Scaling the UI also doesnt help
Tested in in single player, also no luck

Mod list is attached, let me know if you need the save

I'm experiencing the same while playing with pyMods (without AB). Inventory is visible when opening a chest though.
Reverting to .17.17 solves the bug

unfortunatly thats a no go, cant tell the server to do so :|

you seem to be the 3rd one with pY mods, there is another thread posted at the same time, he said its also with AB, according to someone on Discord

well, playing py mods on single with no bug is harder than multi with the bug :lol:

it however seems connected to other gui bugs reported right after .17.18 went live

opening a chest (any, also modded ones) lets you see your inventory.
kinda playable :roll: :lol:

Same, also with PyMods. Probably related to the size of the right panel if I had to guess

I found a partial workaround for this (and presumably a specific place to start troubleshooting from): I was able to get my inventory to mostly show (7.5 rows of it and scrollable) by putting the Custom UI scale slider at 75% (Interface Settings).

I think they´ll figure it out, not the first time UI gets borked in 0.17 :lol:

I´m working around it by having a chest on a toolbar slot, and whenever i desperatly need something from my inventory thats not around for picking up with the pipette tool, I put that down.
Thats helping when you are out in the wild, without any machine is nearby, because that also lets you see your bags, basicly any entity that has an inventory works
Its actually the huge crafting menu on the right that makes it bug out on the left

Also, rolling back a version means no longer compatible and can't load save so it looks like I will have to be inventive when checking my inventory. Putting anything in the search filed on the crafting side expands it back out and the normal things I am accessing go on the quick bar at the bottom.

its quite some training for your muscle memory. Haven´t used new toolbar mechanic as intensive as in the last few hours :)

I fixed several layouting problems and this seems to work now in 0.17.19. I can't test your exact case, so I can't be sure, but I'm 90% sure :)

How long until 0.17.19 is released? This is completely unplayable.

If you want to avoid game braking issues I really recommend to go back to 0.16.51

0.17.x is the experimental release branch, do not play on it with the expectation of zero issues, things will break from time to time.

0.17.19 will be released today.

I'm sorry for the trouble, but the gui needed some internal refactorings to make it more robust in the long run, and some simple errors were not catched.

is this also causing my screen to black out when opening LARGE warehouses that are full?
I can make it not back out by scrolling down, IF there are empty slots in that warehouse

i dont even know when it started, might have ven been 17.0, wasn´t as painful to be worth a bug report, also i only recently figured out that empty slots "fix" it

i might write one now that i have narrowed it down

I'm new here, and I'm not sure if this will reopoen this, but I'm experiencing this on 17.24

It happens in 2 cases.
  1. when a large inventory is open (like a warehouse) that has many items in it
  2. when trying to view a recipe tool tip from the crafting menu, that has enough items to build it. (such as the MK5 mining drill, or the Electric multi-purpose furnace 2)
