Parallel downloads/updates of mods

(not sure if this belongs to Ideas and Suggestion or to BugReports)
When I update the mods ingame it download one after one. Why not utilize parallel download? Or improve the download speed of the modportal (using CDN?).
It's downloading maximum 0.5Mbit/s for me where i have a internet connection of 50Mbit/s.
