Hi,

i play with a friend on a multiplayer server. So far so good, atm we are on a point to spread a little out of our island, but there is no america.

Is the map generation work by design or we are unlucky with the seed??

The seed is 4063143588 and this is what we discovered....water, water, even more water

So are we alone, or is there are a chance to find another island with more ore patches?

I think you chose the "Island" preset.
I quote the 0.17.0 changelog :

New map terrain type selectable: Island. Launch the rocket with only a limited amount of resources available on the map.

From that, I'd say you won't find anything else.
