typing zone in research screen always apparent

Hu there, little suggestion I haven't seen mentionned yet in the forum: having the zone to type your research always "on"
I know it's quick to click on it once you know it's there but first thing is it took me a long time to find the "search functions" everywhere in the game as they weren't there when I first played (I think?) so having it bigger than just the icon could be a plus for new players.
and secondly... it would help me because I'm stupid, I know if I have to click the icon to type, I know which icon it is, but it doesn't matter I always click "start research" above because it looks like a zone I can type in and every time it reminds me that I am an idiot
I guess we will learn the new UI anyway but the typing zone is already defined and not used when you're not searching something so might as well have it open, right?
