Factorio is incabable of deleting savefiles.

This causes:

• Being unable to delete savefiles from inside the loadgame / savegame menu

• Autosaves not to work, as it can't delete old autosaves.

• Saving a already saved map impossible. As it creates a file called "mapname.bak", this backup can't be deleted by the game, and therefor it can't save the game

Stebs to reproduce:

• Make new save

• Save game

• Save game again (this creates the "savefile.bak" file)

• Now i can't save and get the error message:

"Cannot save map: Couldn't remove
"path to savefolder"\"mapname.bak.zip"

I can delete the "savefile.bak" file manually from the Factorio\saves folder. Therafter being able save my game. But then the "savefile.bak" files is created again.


Aslo after failing to save the game, a file called "savefile.tmp" is created, but i expect this to be normal behavior.

Thanks for the report however it works perfectly fine for me when I test saving/deleting/saving over saves.

There must be something special about your setup which is blocking files from being deleted by the game. Please provide the log file from when it errors.

I have this problem as well. I have already tried re-installing the game, deleting the AppData/Roaming/Factorio folder manually, starting new saves without mods. I have the same issue as anderslind and can reproduce it the same way. Please see the attached factorio log. I can't wait to play more with this release, but continually creating new save files is getting old.

yes. Seems something was changed in 0.17, which broke saving on specefically Windows 10 - Version 1607

They won't spend more time on it since it is easy to fix by updating windows.
