Allow scrolling the map preview while generating a map sideways. I suggest holding shift and scrolling the mouse wheel like any other major program.

You can click and drag the preview around. No need for a special hotkey.

It does ignore the mouse whell left/right movement while up/down scrolls. It's a bit counterintuitive to sue due to that.

I know but I can only scroll up and down and not left and right. Did you ever open an image editing program that didn't do it like that? Felt very unnatural and unmature.

Actually, not having effective methods of scrolling images outside of click and drag is a 'problem' that I know I've had with image editing software. I put problem in quotes here, because it's really a problem, click and drag is actually generally more effective. Scroll wheel often controls zoom, with some variety of click and drag allowing movement.
With all of that said, I feel like the appropriate solution is either strictly follow the above paradigm (which can quickly be figured out) or to add horizontal mouse wheel capabilities. Having the ability to scroll up an down without the ability to scroll left-right is annoying. It makes it feel like the feature 'should' be there, but isn't. Like the functionality is half-implemented.

Related, does anyone have a mouse with left-right scroll ability to see if it works (edit: in the map preview) ?
I have a Logitech one that does, but I still haven't bothered to setup it "properly" for Linux...

Unfortunately doesn't wotk. But to be honest, it rarely works (at least on Windows). Most of the apps I have tested it on just ignore the side-scroll (including Excel, Explorer). Paint.net and my browsers seem to support it, but :
- On Chrome, it scrolls so fast it's unusable
- On paint.net and Firefox, it scrolls a little less fast, so it's only marginally usable.

Some shortcuts use mouse buttons 4/5 now.
