[0.17.0] Linux Steam networking not working

When someone invites me, i can't join, game says me 'Steam networking is disabled'
Also, friends see me as 'Online', not 'In Factorio'.

Linux networking seems broken in general; I can't successfully join any public game.

It should be fixed in 0.17.2, if it still doesn't work for you by then, reproduce the problem and post factorio-current.log, please

This appears to be an issue on Windows as well. Getting the same error when trying to join a game hosted with only steam (unless I am doing something wrong). Do you only need to launch a multiplayer game with the steam checkbox ticked to run through steam?

0.17.1 or 0.17.2? 0.17.2 isn't available yet.
