Regarding resource generation Default vs Marathon

Hello folks *waves*
I'm not entirely sure where to post this, but I figured this question would fit best in the "balancing" forum, so here we go:
A few FFFs ago I've read something about the default resource patch generation was adjusted to provide a slightly higher yield of Iron compared to Copper.
Now the question is - is, or could, this be adjusted to the "recipe difficulty" setting?
Because in my Marathon game (expensive recipes & tech), I'm running out of copper while the map is still littered with iron ore.
I blame the Electronic Circuits using 10 Copper Cables instead of just 3 - and you know how you never seem to have enough of them
If this is already in place and I just got unlucky with my Copper patches, please let me know![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
