Hey friends,

i have a problem to start Factorio.
I will start it but my srceen flickers and i become an error message.
Error code stay down.
I have read the forums here and on the offizial forum of Factorio.
i test all the solutions to problems.
I deaktivate the Steamoverlay, start the game with --force-opengl, i deaktivate my virus program,my drivers are up to date. I have no Mods in the game.
If i deinstal the game after instal it new i can play it but if wen i start it new i become the error massage.

Try to restart the laptop if you have not already since the driver update.
Do you have an additional nvidia graphics card in your laptop? If you do not know, post the model number. If you are sure you only have the integrated intel one, post the log when using opengl.

What is the problem when using opengl?
Try changing the sprite quality to normal and deactivate thread-sprite-loading in the config file.

Hello, the game fails to initialize DirectX 9. Unfortunatelly I don't know what is causing this. I just hope it won't be an issue in 0.17 with DirectX 11 rendering backend.

The fact reinstalling the game fixes the issue for one run is really interesting. There is no difference in how DirectX is being intialized the first run or the second run, so it is really mind boggling why reinstalling does make a difference.

You could try to go to nVidia Control panel and experiment with "Preferred graphics processor" setting: https://uk.answers.acer.com/app/answers ... s-settings

I'd try to set it to "High-performance NVIDIA processor", if that doesn't help, try "Integrated graphics"
