I'm currently on Mac and the game was running fine before, but I've been getting this error message for the past few weeks every time I launch the game causing it to close itself immediately. I've tried verifying the integrity of the game files, uninstalling and reinstalling, manually deleting everything factorio I could find in my computer's files then reinstalling, turning off cloud save and then repeating the previous step, and then turning off steam overlay because that apparently helped some people with the same problem, but none of it has worked for me. If anybody knows how to fix this problem, or has any other ideas as to what I could try it'd be greatly appreciated.

Error 20 is failure to initilize mouse. I don't know what it happens sometimes and how to workaround it. In next update we replaced library we use for mouse and keyboard inputs, so hopefully it won't be issue anymore.

This is still an issue for me. Has anyone found a fix?

You need to update the game to use what has changed.

If you're using Steam, you'll need to opt-in to the betas. If you're using the in-game updater, make sure you've enabled experimental updates in the settings.
