I've been using the car to take out turrets, crepers and creper spawns, but when I try and kill a creper with the train it stops. I think if a car can kill a creper then a train should have no problems.

This was fixed in 0.5.0 (or 0.4.x not sure). The train is a creeper smaching machine now. The only thing missing is repairing the trains in the station.
