What are the criteria for disabling achievements?

I read somewhere that some mods don't disable achievements.

How does the game decide whether or not a mod causes achievements to be disabled?

Every mod disables steam achievements.
No mod disables the seperately saved "modded game" achievements.
Using /c disables achievements completely.

Do you mean this?

This does not affect achievements, they are still separate.

I hadn't realised that you still get achievements when you are playing with mods, but they are kept separate from vanilla achievements. I see now that there is an achievements.dat and modded-achievemnets. dat file in the factorio directories.

I think that must have been the source of my confusion. I suppose that means I can try for all the achievements all over again, with mods. :)
