Today we have new ways to distribute software across all linux distributions ... forget about RPMs and DEBs, tar.gzs, its history now :)
  • 1. APPIMAGE, just one executable file with all dependencies inside capable to run on all linux distributions, no repository needed, no admin/root access needed, no installation procedure, just download one file and run everywhere ... probably the most suitable solution for game demoversions - more info
  • 2. FLATPAK = primary repository flathub.org (but you can have our own full featured repository)
What do you think ? Isnt it good idea to transform your tar.gz packages into APPIMAGES ? Thank you for your consideration :-)
