TL;DR

I suggest a different way for multi-layer walls to connect.

What ?

Instead of only partly connecting with holes in between, these walls should form a coherent thicker wall. Something like that could look similar to concrete ore stone bricks placed down.

Why ?

This looks better (in my opinion) and more realistic.

I actually support the idea of having wall textures similar to stone roads including diagonal blocks. This is a bit more textures but would improve overall look of it greatly.
