The tips popup (Options -> Other-> Show tips and tricks at the start of the game) should remember which tip was shown and pick a different one the next time.

Currently you always see the "Other products made in furnace" tip when the game starts.

If you click "Next" it changes to "Two sides of belts", and then shows "Two sides of belts" with every new game until you quit Factorio or click "Next" again.

Restarting Factorio brings you back to "Other products made in furnace".

I think it is like this from the very early versions of game. The tip system was initially intended to be some kind of a tutorial. That was becouse actual tutorial system was added to the game.
I do agree that Factorio should show different tip each time or maybe just a random one. But then again I think there should be much more tips added into game in the first place.

Thanks for the report. It is true, but it is not really a bug. Rather a feature request. So I am moving it to Ideas & Suggestions.
