Planting spawner

Make it so if you leave or drop an alien artifact a new spawner will sprout from this site in time. you could set up a spawner farm.

No. I would literally have to pick up tens of thousands of alien artifact scattered around my base to prevent new biter bases from spawning and i am not alone about this.
I don't think anyone picks up all the alien artifacts in the late game when they just want to clear out an area of biters.
Btw there is no need to farm biter bases. There is plenty already.

At some point I want to have an automatic pickup. Like some bots, which do that.

But planting more? Hm. Why not. Could be a nice strategy for MP. ;)

This is something I've been thinking about for a while. The way i see it going is when you kill a large biter there is a small chance to spawn a "spawner pod" in a 5 square radius (so they can jump walls). This spawner pod is a small building that is neutral so your turrets don't attack it but after a set amount of time turns into a biter spawner. This will cause biters to spread faster late game and give the biters a chance to hop your walls
