The inserter in the attached save is waiting on the far lane of the wrong belt tile (to its side, south). See screenshot above. The inserter was never rotated and I’ve never used mods. This also happens if items are placed on the other lane of the belt. Mining the corner belt south-west of the inserter will make it wait on both lines of the belt tile in front of it (west). Placing the corner belt again will make the inserter switch back to waiting on the wrong belt tile shortly after.

I’m expecting it to be waiting on both lanes of the belt tile in front of it (west) all the time.

How to reproduce:

• Mine inserter.
• Place inserter as it is now.

Reproducibility: always (at least in that spot).

Edit: Replaced full base save with a minimized setup to replicate the issue.

I think it's a visual bug.
In my understanding, there is no difference here of the green linje going to the west or south, as it's still the same "transport line".


It also favor south instead of east, and also for inserter output(onto belt): The expected visual appears when line is sectioned(which I somehow did here, even though I think it shouldn't, bug maybe?): It seems to favor the part of the line that is closest to the inserters middle point(center where line goes out from):

Thanks for the report however the debug info isn't guaranteed to be 100% accurate - which is why there's the giant red warning at the bottom saying it's for our use not runtime use by players.

Unless the inserter isn't working correctly I'm going to move this to won't fix.
