This is my idea on how to inprove factorio's roboports.
In the current state of the game when you place a roboport and it connects to another port it will share the same network. But if you could add frequences of some sort to your roboports you could make a something like a robot based smeltery in the middle of your base with it's own robots. So that you can be sure there will be at least 300 robots at a time working in the smeltery and not going somewhere else.

And/or shift click it to disconnect it like power poles and cables
And/or set its coverage radius.

I don't think bots need buffing though.
