Hi,
Why is the train in the picture not taking an empty lane? My guess is that it was open when it set off, but not anymore. If so, any way to avoid this on a busy stacker?

What type of signal is before the stacker? It needs to be a chain signal.

Try putting a chain signal immediate before the stacker. If I am not mistaken, when a train gets to a chain signal, and needs to reserve the next standard signal, it can recalculate the path to select an open exit.

Also the far left lane has a station adding a huge penalty to this lane. A train might prefer to wait for another lane, over going through one with a station.
