Detaching the camera from the player?

Is there a method to put a player's camera in a fixed position, fixed zoom level AND take away the option to view the map in full screen?
All without detaching the character itself from the player OR moving the character. (So the character can still be controlled normally, it's just that it can move relative to the screen.)
I am trying to create a time lapse script for vanilla replays...
