Factrain - Only build train Scenario

I searched but didn't find. Is there any scenario to just build the train transport, like a railroad game? I started doing this scenario with certain factories already built far from each other (with the objective of having factories ready from the mining to the intense launching of rockets), for the total focus on building train lines, but I wonder if this kind of scenario already exists.

A scenario just to build and automatize hundreds of train, sharing tracks, sharing resources, fuelling, etc

*The Basic Resources have to be infinite
*The goal would be to produce 1k science per minute

The game will consist to players create something like 200+ train stations...

Things from scenario are indestructible (Dont know how to do it)
Infinite Electricity (for now, but we can make something too)

Starting with several Roboport, Train Things, Personal Roboport and robots

Sounds interesting.

I have some possible additions:
  • Lower capacity of wagons for faster escalation of challenge
  • Self-powered outposts(at least part of them), which will require fuel or steam supplies
  • Mixed load/unload stations, where positions of wagons matters
More ambitious stuff:
  • Weight of cargo, which actuality matters
  • System for automatic coupler
  • Invode bitters into process

Your ideas are great! I'm searching for experienced modders to take on the project... I'm learning scripts but i'm still in the begining.

I just finish the first version of the map, you can download below if you wanna try... I'm in public online multiplayer too, by name FacTrain ....

The list of ideas until now:
- Energy transportation (Today is infinite) / Self-powered outposts(at least part of them), which will require fuel or steam supplies
- Have something with money: Cost per rail, Train, Profits, Costs Refuelling.
- Block players to construct things that are not relative to trains
- Lower capacity of wagons for faster escalation of challenge (Thats Great)
- Mixed load/unload stations, where positions of wagons matters
- Aging of trains, making them slower with time

More ambitious stuff:
- Weight of cargo, which actuality matters
- System for automatic coupler
- Include bitters into process
- Ramdomly make factories in map, every time we open the scenario (based on a blueprint book), making infinite factories when you know more of the map

When you say "Self-powered outposts(at least part of them)", do you mean some of the outposts are self-powered and some are not? Or do you mean for any given outpost, part of the outpost is powered, but additional power is required for full operation? Because I really like the idea of the latter. For example, imagine an outpost that only has enough power generation within the outpost for about half of its electricity needs, and only by delivering additional fuel (coal-equivalent, or maybe even nuclear) can the outpost reach full output. Or perhaps outposts initially only powered by solar, and only by delivering fuel can you get around-the-clock production.

Although, I suppose all this requires that the user can't be allowed to just run power poles across the map to power all the outposts from a central power-generation outpost.

I like this idea very much but unfortunately I can't help but give suggestion which will increase your workload :|
What about if you have a bot based factory which create high tech end game stuff that but without bots, meaning you have to ship in a certain amount of bots to make it function normally.
Construction bot can also be used. A total wrecked up base which requires shipping construction bot to rebuild will be interesting. Going to the extreme, or a huge biter infested end game area which you need to send enough walls, contruction bot, roboport, poles, laser turret and acculumator with the help of arttilery wagon to clear, rebuild and finally gain access to the area, or even make the game like god mode but all player can do is putting blueprint, making someplaces unmodifiable until you provide construction bot or energy.

Hi,

I was looking for a mod like this a while ago, I found it yesterday, it is great!

But how are the distribution centers meant to be used?
Is it basically a 4x4 splitter with a big buffer ?
Or is it supposed to be some thing else?

As I am using it I think it has a little flaw.
I was using the lowest block for iron plate and the one above for copper, in this case there are some copper flowing into the iron plate line.
Just have to rotate the latest belt to the left and it is gone, but maybe something to fix in the original :)
I added a picture to show what I mean.
