Hello there! I have a fairly large end game base with lots of logistic robots (like 5k+) and plenty of robo-ports but sometimes, it just all gets backed up and its a pain to get it unclogged. I was wondering if maybe there was a way that more charging ports could be added to the robo-port or make a new item that stands like a power pole but charges the bots with no holding space for said bots but like 4-8 charging stations on it? Thatd be pretty sweet

Limited parallel charging is part of the balance and forces you to think, instead of brainlessly add robots and roboports hoping that would do the trick

It is possible, my mod adds new modular roboport items, which include a Robochest (Robot storage), Zone expander (just the zone, nothing else) and Charging pads.

Unfortunately, because of the way robot docking works, they want to charge at the roboport they dock with before docking, the robochest MUST has at least 1 charging pad.

My mod also adds a whole heap of other stuff though, but it's proof that it can be done. Other people might have already made a mod for it.

Indeed, there exist mods that add just recharging stations for bots, with a small footprint. I'm just expressing that adding this to vanilla would alter the balance of the game too much.

What are the names of these mods? I want to try them out now, as they sound interesting

I don't think Bob's mods need much promoting at this point

That said, if you've got that many bots running in a regular loop, yea, you should investigate what they are moving in bulk and replace that with a belt (or in case of a long run, a train). Bots backing up suggests strongly that you are not using them for what they are good at.
