WHY I MADE THIS TOPIC
I searched far and wide through this forum, (using advanced search, ...) and I did not find any topic that is dedicated to answering this one question. I just recently created my first mod, and the first "discussion" on it asked "My game version is at 0.15.40 how do I get to 0.16". After answering that, I thought it would be useful to have a place to where I can link anyone if they ask it ever again. So no more trouble writing that short "how to" about "Properties > Betas", because I can always give links to this topic.
It's just... I figured that it is a missing piece of information that should have been provided somewhere.

GOG users need to link their Factorio account using the serial number provided by GOG and follow the standalone version instructions.
