So I am wondering if It is possible to get a steam key for the game since I already bought it through the site but want a key for the convenience of having it on steam

You need to log into the website with your accound (the one you bought the game with), and then link the account to your Steam account (you can do this in your profile, click on your pseudo upper right of the screen).
