Train speed as endgame research

I suggest having train max speed be an infinite research using space packs.
I've been playing my first map for quite a while after launching the initial rockets, and one thing that stands out is how long it takes to get from one side of the map to the other. I usually take a train out of my pocket, put it on the closest rail, and go to the stop closest to my destination when I want to get somewhere. Even that takes a while now. If I could research faster trains using infinite research, though, that would be very satisfying. Not only would I be able to better navigate my map, but throughput from remote outposts would stay high even as the outposts get built further and further away.
Braking power could similarly be an infinite research.
