Hi, in my current situation I don't have access to steam and will not have access to steam (don't ask why ) and I cant quite tell from all of the FAQs and stuff: do I need steam for this game? If I buy this game (which I would like to) will I be able to access it as a download or something else not on steam? And, when the full game releases this coming summer, will I still have access to the full game off of steam?

The game can be purchased on Factorio website and be played without DRM : https://factorio.com/buy
It can also be bought on GoG
It can also be bought on Steam (but you don't want that).

And all versions will allow you to play the game as much as you want, they are totally equivalent.
