I was in the middle of taking a blueprint of some pipes and I let go of the mouse so the blueprint dialog would pop-up for me to accept it. I let go of the mouse at the same time the auto-save progress window showed then I crashed.

0.16.8 I also got a crash when autosave
[0.16.8-5] Crash on auto-save

EDIT: I was using 16.8-5
Also crash on auto-save, factorio did not close but kept hanging on the start of auto-save, see attachment. I had to exit using the taskmanager. I noticed that after the crash factorio still used high cpu ~14% on a i7 4790k. I was walking diagonally while auto-saving (s and d pressed) wearing 6 exoskelentons.
After trying to re-open I got the message: Opening zip "secret"/Roaming/Factorio/saves/_autosave3.temp.zip failed: Bad zip file.

Crash on Autosave or manual save. Using most recent release.
Game hard crashes on "Saving" dialog. Must use taskman to kill application. When attempting to load, "savegame".tmp is corrupted, but original savegame is still available.

Same issue here in 0.16.9.
Might be related to bugged provider chests (
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=55848): I've tried replacing one of the bugged providers and then immediately save and it crashes.

This has just happened to me after turning off and back on the combinator that was controlling the Requester chest.

I believe the original report is a bit flip.
Edit: I might be wrong, but I lock this never the less, otherwise we could end up with tons of me2 posts that are completely unrelated.

Thanks for the report.
Loewchen is right, the original report seems to be random bit flip in pointer address, other reports reported in this thread are corruptions of logistic network state that have been fixed in 0.16.12
