I downloaded the Dytech files and put them into a folder but how do I use them? I cannot unzip them or extract them because they're not a folder they are a RAR file, what do I do to use them and please explain in detail as I'm not very tech savey

winrar, download winrar. .rar extention is basically a different .zip file. Same thing! Get the free version, it never expires even though its a 30 or 60 day trial thing. It works the same.

just open up the file, and drag the contents to your factorio//mods folder, as if it was moving from a folder to a folder.

Edit: and if you are running the latest factorio experimental version, what you need to do to get that running is... lowercase mod folder, go into the modname//info.json file (with wordpad or similar) and change the name to lowercase. replace space's with a - (on folder too) (this is suppose to be the propper mod name format that is going to be used in the future) and then go into modname//prototypes and change, for example __MOD NAME__ to the same thing you did with the folder and info.json, but leave the __,, as in __mod-name__
