What did you do? I placed a reactor.
What happened? The graphic for the heat pipes was rotated wrong (see image).
What did you expect to happen instead? Judging by the light on the normal heat pipes, I assume the heat pipes graphic is rotated by 180 degrees.

Fixed for next release. Thanks for pointing it out, it is surprising nobody noticed earlier

To complete the story, turns out it worked most of the time correctly by accident and the bug had revealed itself by some recent unrelated change in solar panel rendering.
