3*3 reactors = 1320 MW

Big symmetrical square:

1320 MW permanently
1583 MW peak
970 GJ can be accumulated in tanks (3.67 reactor cycles, initial setup of 5 cells per reactor seems to be ok)

Notable however that you cannot feed the middle reactor. That is why there are never 4x adjacency bonuses.

Does heat transfer outwards from the middle reactor? Also, yes, the reason you don't seee this is that you can't automatically feed it. Is it possible to make it work with something like Bob's inserters?

Yes, middle reactor ~700-710 celsium. Will try specific inserters, now I feed them by hands

You can't feed it even with bobs adjustable inserters. The reactor is to large to reach over/through it. You have to remove one corner reactor.

Best setup would be:

I = Inserters and provider/requester chests or underground belts

To really take advantage you have to tile a few of those 8 reactors with inserters + request/provider chest setups so each 8 reactor block gives it's neighbour the neighbour bonus.

Then the question becomes weather you can fit in the ocasional substation and roboport as well. Although the reactor has to become really huge for roboports on the outside not to cover the whole thing with the larger range of mkX roboports.

You clearly have never built a megafactory before.

The kind with all the beacons, and modules, and overall eats all the power and then some.


But yea, I haven't either. Never got past needed around 200 steam engines myself, plus maybe 2 thousand solar panels.

Well, one 8 cell reactor is around 1GW. And I was talking about tiling those larger than roboport range. So something like 64-1024GW.

I were under impression that non-feed reactors like the middle one do not give adjacency bonus and are nothing more than an expensive 7x7 heat pipe.
