Heavy oil issues

Hey Folks,

I've been spending some time learning refining and have a question I haven't been able to answer yet.

From my observations, heavy oil flows at a trickle. I'm trying to get a set of full lubrication tanks, but the rate of light oil and petroleum production constantly out paces. When watching my setup, the heavy oil is constantly flashing in the pipes. Is this typical? I'm working on creating more consumption of light and petroleum (solid fuel, etc), but the constant flashing is getting to me :)

I've attached a screenshot of my current setup. I know it's far from optimal, but this is just experimentation right now.

if light oil or petroleum is backed up, the refinery will stop producing everything.

if you don't have a backup issue, and want more heavy oil yield.
use standard oil processing (30H 30L 40P) instead of advanced oil processing (10H 45L 55P)
or do coal liquefaction (35H 15L 20P)

welcome to the forums! :)

Ugh, you're right! Reading's hard!!

Thanks!

I think the main reason actually is just you're producing too much lubricant to fill all those tanks. Lubricant is only used in fairly small quantities.

Small nitpick: Because of how Coal liquefaction is costed, it's actually 10H 15L 20P net gain, since it costs 25H, but makes 35H.
Also, Basic oil processing is 30H 30L 40P not 30P.

thank you for pointing them out. forgot about the heavy cost.
corrected my post.

cheers
