Hello - my idea is to add homebases [either modded or as a game feature]

Items that could be added:
- Floors [Biggest importance]
Wooden floors for living rooms, Stone floors / Iron floors for storage rooms etc
- Walls
Maybe a bit weaker than the current stone brick wall, but tiling well with the floors
- Decorations
More lamps, a bed [doesn't have to be functional], doors, plants etc

This would make it possible to build a nice central hub with the players rooms and storages for various valuables you collect and produce, instead of living like a gods forsaken ANIMAL. [because hey, we need some comfy place to call home even on a hostile planet full of creeps!]


Other:
The forum - the post edition background SUCKS. It makes it really hard to see where the hell the mouse cursor is [light gray]

Although I've thought about this, it really doesn't fit the games theme nor vision as I understand it.


Floors of concrete/metal I approve of, but that's about the extent of it.

I wouldn't say it's not needed. There are many discussions about that theme. Keys are "Throne room" or "headquarter", if you want to read that. See also in https://forums.factorio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9
