I am new to Factorio and am guessing the you tube video of ratios(0.14) now doesn't count since .15 ?
(something to do with boilers?)
I have read 1 pump/10 boilers/ 20 steam engines and 1 pump/ 14 boilers/ 10 steam engines .
Which is it ?
ty in advance

I think its 1 to to 40 to 80 actually. The 1 to 14 to 10 was before the boiler revamp

The 1/14/10 works for Version 0.14.
I am using 1/20/40 for version 0.15. Based on the quoted 1/10/20 I went and double checked how my coal fired power stations worked and found that they do put out 100% performance if the load is big enough. It makes me wonder if I could add a couple more boilers and still get more power, but at less than 100% efficiency. Worth checking out if I need it before I build nuclear.
Edit: Based on the above response, It looks like I have been building too many pumps.

1.5 : 20 : 15 also works in 0.14
1:20:40 will work in 0.15, but if run at full load long enough you will get little burps of missing water on the last boilers. engines running out of steam.
but for normal use 1:20:40 works just fine.
both above tested in 'creative mode' mod with passive energy void to draw 100% power.
