I quit factorio this morning and the next time I opened up my save file, a lot of things were different. It seems the game was updated. Things like the boiler changed and I had to redesign how my power works. Also, some recipes changed (such as for science pack 3) and now my factory doesnt really work. How do I go back to the version i was on for this save file previously?

You can select previous version by opening Factorio properties in Steam library, switch to Betas tab, and select "0.14.23 - Factorio 0.14 stable" from dropdown. You don't need to enter any code.
