Extreme FPS drop even in new game after PC upgrade....

Hi,

I have had a rather old PC (8 years old?) and when my factory grows and grows, the fps dropped and dropped. Finally I decided its time for a major upgrade and I bought a shiny new thing to make Factorio fun again.

Unfortunately something went really wrong. My new PC is:

Mainboard: Asus X99-E WS USB3.1
CPU: i7-6950X
GPU: GTX 1080 TI (384.76)
RAM: 32 GB

When I start a new game with enabled VSync, I have only 35 fps. (UPS is 60). On my old computer, it was 60 fps. When I disable VSync, I get 60 fps but the screen tearing makes it no fun to play.

What might cause this massive perfoemance issue? Its a brand new Windows 7 x64 installation and the newest NVIDIA driver is installed as well.

I reinstalled Factorio and copied all content from the old drive in AppData/Roaming/Factorio to the new location in order not to lose anything. I also tried a completely fresh install of Factorio without any existing files, but the FPS are the same. Creepy.

Right now I cant play at all due to lack of fun :(

I got it working. The problem was that I usually uncheck all unneccessary stuff while installing drivers, since I only want the driver, not all of the other bundled software. But Factorio seems to need one additional packet apart from "driver" in the nvidia package.

The packages I installed afterwards are "3D Vision Controller Driver" and "3D Vision Driver" and "Hd Audio Driver". None of them I think I need, but after this it works fluidly.
