Hello, I'm KAL 9000!
I bought Factorio about a week ago, and it's one of the best games I've ever played!
I thought I'd say hello to everybody in the community, so, hello!

Do you guys have any tips for a new player?

welcome! my only tip for playing the: dont ask for general tips.

if u are stuck and need tip for something, sure go search for it. if not, it is not advisable to ask or look for generic tip until u launch 3 rockets or so.

I have exactly 1 Tip for you:

Whatever you build, THINK BIG !!!
(= In the long term, you need insane amounts of most stuff, so plan ahead and make sure to build everything in a scalable way. This eans especially refinerys, cracking, smelting, chip building)

And one blue belt of iron/copper is not enough. 4 iron and 4 copper is barely.

However much iron you're producing.. you're going to need more

I'd take a look at the guides on steam, they're pretty good. No self-promotion there, noooope

But seriously, katherineofsky's main bus guide is both good, and may ruin the fun of the game at the same time for you haha. Think of it like reading tvtropes before making a film. You'll be thinking "Well crap, okay what;s the point anymore, this is just solved" XD

I noticed. I'm about 12 hours in and am ALWAYS running out of iron! And that's after I looked up how much I'd probably need for a standard factory and produced MORE than that!

My general tip: Get a car. Disable the normal music for your first outing. Play this and go as fast as possible between your outposts. Avoid bugs. Don't avoid trees. If Factorio isn't still your favorite game after that, this mod may be for you
