How many burner entities needed to win with NO electricity?

Right now you're forced to get electricity eventually so you can do research.

But if there was a burner lab, you could handcraft all the way up to red, blue and black science.

The next bottleneck would be oil processing - pumpjack, oil refinery and chemical plant all need electricity. So now we're up to 4 new burner entities required. (Incidentally, it would be funny to see burner pumpjack -> burner oil refinery -> burner chemical plants to make solid fuel -> burner inserters to put it back in all of the previous buildings.) But we still can't handcraft to blue science - engine unit can't be handcrafted. So now we need a burner assembler 2 - 5 new burner entities required.

Finally, of course the rocket silo itself needs a burner version - 6 new burner entities required. I don't think you ever need a burner assembler 3, because rocket silo and satellite can be hand-crafted.

I don't expect something like this would ever get added to Vanilla - especially since labs requiring electricity is a great way to encourage the player to set up an electrical network - but it would be amusing to have a mod that added these 6 entities unlocking at the same time the non-burner versions do (probably also adding a burner assembler 1, just so the early game isn't super tedious) - then there'd be a challenge run where you can beat the game without generating a single watt of electricity.

Ask (or fork) AJ213 to update his mod. It uses a different trick: changing electricity to burner energy sources in all the entity prototypes it can find except those listed under "Known bugs". Burner labs are in it.

Ah, cool! Not surprised that someone did a mod like this, but didn't find it before :)

steam power is burner power. its just centralised.
