Slag Processing and Sulfur

With recent changes to the ratio of sulfur involved in slag processing, processing slag is now a net drain on sulfur rather than a net source of sulfur (at least using ceramic filters). Is this intentional?

To be precise, every time sulfur does a lap around the slag cycle you only keep 4/7ths of what you started with.

This change has an extra large impact considering that infinite ores (with two exceptions; coal and one other) now require sulfuric acid to mine (Jivolite requires hydrofluoric acid, which requires sulfuric acid to create).

So I want to know...was this intentional?
