It changes to stable when the devs are happy to call it stable (i.e. most bugs fixed, no pending issues). I'd except a stable version a few weeks from now on.

I know I am eagerly awaiting stable 0.15.

I'm all for the devs using "valve time" - make sure it's good instead of pushing something unfinished to the consumer. Looking at how the game's being treated, I think they indeed do this

Usually takes around ~20ish patches per version before it hits stable. So we'll see a new stable in a couple or so weeks. But experimental is still highly stable and playable imo.

I did a 40 hour game from start to finish, so for the ordinary user the game code is pretty damn solid. You have to be looking for really strange things to cause a crash.

Don't be afraid of the experimental version - I've played it for a few hundred hours now, and not had a single issue. Its impressively stable - massive respect to the devs!

Experimental never takes long enough. Most of the bugs are freaking hilarious.

I've found the game to be extremely stable. I may just not notice them though

For those qho feel experimental lasts for much too long for the little bug amount there may be, remember that even if the game looks more stable than some "finished" games, there are yet many bugs fixed at every minor update :

True, that said, I just finished a 70 hour fresh game on .15. Sure I ran into a few annoyances, but the worst stuff was fixed within a day.

"Unstable" means not just "might crash" but also "subject to changes". 0.15 is unstable in the latter sense.
