Hi,
i am in need of something interesting: a balanced way to branch off a sinle lane from 4 belts, so that it draws even from them.

The Design on the left is my current working point, although i am not entirely sure if it is really perfect. The right one is more compact, but only extracts a red belt. I would be interested in any improvements or other ideas. Do note that it is not a full 4:5 Balancer, as the 4 original lines remain unchanged.

Wouldn't it be easier to branch your new lane straight away with a splitter, then use a standard 4-4 balancer after that ?

That way, the new lane would only get half throughput if nothing backs up, and might not get any if only one input lane is filled.

True dat...
I wrongly assumed the 4 lanes were already balanced, for some reason (as in your main bus or something).

My suggestion is to do a prioritized split from each belt separately, and then place a 4-to-1 balancer to the side of the main bus.

This is my go to.

You add a balancer on the top of the output to reduce it to one lane.

Makes a perfect split to 2 sides. One side can be just not used or undergrounded to 2nd for 2 belt split.
Keeps your bus looking fully saturated unless you consume more than you provide then bus dries out proportionally.
