power switch

I don't think the power switch should connect 2 energy grids faster than the animation because sometimes grids are connected but it looks like the power switch is offline.

The grid on the right is connected and getting full power. (accumulators will stay forever at 50% charge)

And the power graph looks like this. (yes that is 5sec !)

I can point to viewtopic.php?f=6&t=28899 Discuss: Power Switch should not "Blink"

My current opinion is still, that it should not switch more often than once per second, exactly for the shown reasons. But internally the switch calculates the decision as usual and switches only to on, if the calculation is "on" for more than 30 ticks (half a second) or within 60 ticks it is 30 times on. So the switch will have a minimum delay of 30 ticks and a maximum of 60.

Think to the mechanical parts in the switch, that take a while to activate. :)

needs to be on 45 times in 60 ticks to toggle on and off 45 times in 60 ticks to toggle off your 30 times in 60 ticks would lead to the same issue as now when flicker on off on off because when the state changes because 30 in 60 ticks the next tick can in effect invert the total rather than needing 30 ticks of inverted data

You will always see the issue, as long as the resolution is not low enough. :)
