I loaded 0.15.15 and the game suggested I try one of the tutorials, so I did.

I got to the point of trying to place a ghost S bend, and this is the result
if you try and place it non-ghost, it works as the tutorial suggests, but trying to place it as a ghost, and you get what the screenshot shows instead. Seems like a real/ghost inconsistency.

You need to use R to rotate the end point. It's confusing and with shift+R configured to reverse rotate might be even more confusing.

the point is it is inconsistant. if you place real rails, it works as the tutorial suggests.
if you use shift click to start to place ghost rails, it does that instead.
