I consider that barrels is useless because now we are haveing fluid wagon so why we need barrels. For me fluid wagon is more efficenty than barrels. Can somebody find other function for barrels that will be profitable?
English isn't my native language.Sorry for my mistake

A waggon stuffed with barrels can hold much more than a tank waggon thought - so for storage this is still a reasonable and flexible alternative

I'm using barrels to get lubricant to my belt factory and engine plant by robots. these recipes use very little lubricant and getting a pipeline there is usually messy.
i also use this for sulphuric acid in some places.
but you are right, trains full of oil barrels is a thing of the past.

There are roughly two niche applications for barrels.
First, using them with robots to deliver liquids in limited amounts within a logistic network.
Second, when you need to transfer liquids in moderate amounts across a densely built-up area, weaving a belt through it may be easier than building a pipe.

I almost always use robots to transfer Lubricant to make Blue Belts and Electric Engines.

Thanks for all answers. I didn't know about these aplications.

1. Cargo wagons filled with barrels holds 100k fluid, a fluid tanker only holds 75k.
2. Modding: Fluid wagons can't have an equipment grid, cargo wagons can.
3. If you only want a single station, Barrels can be sorted, fluids cannot.
Just a few issues I've noticed personally. And those are only to do with trains.

I'm quite certain they can but it's much more difficult and there's a lot of weird little problems to overcome (like 0.1 units of a liquid reading 0 on the circuit network) but not impossible.
