Manual Stack size Toggle

With some of the stack sizes getting very large I would love a hotkey to toggle a manual stack split size.

The problem
Right click is a dedicated 50%. This is 5 of 10, 50 of 100, 100 of 200.
If I want to place 50 ammo in every turret in a line I have to right click a stack then shift right click the turret then Q to reset the stack then repeat for next turret.

The solution.
Create an Override hotkey which acts as a toggle for right click functionality. Attach a field for the manual entry of the override amount or %.
When toggled on Right click splits a stack to the override amount if available, Ctl-Right click inserts the override amount, etc...

Further options
This could be made more dynamic by allowing on the fly adjustment of the override with +/-, popup text box on toggle, etc...

Applications
The principle applied mostly to early and mid game where the need to prime structures, share components, and manually get things moving is greatest.
I personally would use this most to prime Red belts manufacturing as i replace yellow, load turrets, prime power, prime research after moving things.

Really the options for this are endless and it adds a nice bit of precision over doing multiple splits to reach some number of items you are looking for.

This suggestion works exactly like a mod. Which it is. :)

I had the same problem with putting 50 ammo into my turrets and also would like some way of manually specifying the amount to split.

What is the name of the mod you are talking about? Or are you talking about creating a new mod?

About creating a mod, which influences the research. :)

It also works exactly like a feature. Which it is.

It's not a feature, cause it changes game-saves and makes them incompatible to the same versions with the same mods. Nothing like that is implemented till now in Factorio and I'm sure they will not begin with this. :)

A new global keybind should default to default on a save which previously had no access to the feature. This is a programming issue not an impossibility.

Are you POSITIVE no new hotkeys have EVER been added to Factorio?

With incompatibility I mean also blueprints that work in one game, but not in another. Or stategies, which work in one multiplayer map, but not in another. No fun to find out why.

Manually splitting a stack has nothing to do with blueprints

Hm. Looks that I'm currently really overworked. Shame on me  , I thought the whole time you want to toggle the inserter stack size manually.
Sorry for this, but it was hard - the last three weeks...
