Using Logistic trash slot will cause to robot to pick up the item from the player, then the item vanishes and robot returns to roboport.

Use the attached save file, do not move, take 2 red belts from the toolbelt, and put then in a trash slot, robot will come from the roboport nearby, and the immanently go back, red belt disappears from the trash slot but does not appear in the logistics network.

You're requesting 1000 red belts. The robots are grabbing the items from your trash and giving them right back to you.
